
Winners will be contacted by phone shortly after Friday November 17, 2006

Judging criterion: Winning entries are those thought to be the most graphically and conceptually pleasing representations of how children and adults can reduce energy use. The judges include personnel from Scott Community College, Mississippi Bend AEA, Davenport Public Library, MidAmerican Energy, and The Family Museum. Decisions of the judges are final. Entries will be displayed at The Family Museum.
Participants: Fourth Grade students
Entries may include original:
- Posters
- Illustrated slogans, poems or songs
- Essay on the importance of renewable energy
- Practical tips on recycling
Requirements:
a) Poster Size: Maximum size 11” x 14” Minimum size: 81/2” x 11” Artists may use markers, crayons, colored pencils, paint. Typed entries preferred, but neatly handwritten works accepted.
b) Identification of Entry: A complete entry form must be taped or glued
(no staples) on the back of each entry. Please do not write any
personal information on the front or back of the artwork. All information
will be used for contacting the winners.
Information requested is the student’s name, address, phone, age,
grade, school and teacher if artwork is sent as a school project.
c) Limitations on Entries: Only one child’s name per entry and one entry
per child. Entries created by more than one student are not eligible.

Deadline for Entries: Friday November 10, 2006
All entries become the property of Watts Up and may be used for display purposes.
