FREE Tutorial (old tutorial)- Creating Virtual Field Trips in Google Earth™
This is a great teaching tool and best of all, it's FREE. Use Google services to involve your students in creating virtual tours inside of Google Earth. Below are some practical ideas for creating virtual tours or other teaching strategies.
Use GPS coordinates, pictures, and video from a real field trip and re-create them inside of Google Earth to share with others.
Create a visual journal or diary inside of Google Earth.
Raise awareness on a variety of topics in your part of the world.
Reach wider audiences.
Keep students interested by putting them in groups to work on their own virtual field trip.
Note from Google Earth: Google Earth is a broadband, 3D application that not all computers can run. Desktop computers older than 4 years old and notebook computers older than 2 years old may not be able to run it. See the Google Earth download page for system requirements.
